Functional Safety
In the area of safety-related software, we have substantial expertise in application of the following international standards to embedded software:
- IEC 61508
- ISO 26262
- ISO 13849
- ISO 62061
- EN 60528
We have knowledge of the complete functional safety lifecycle:
- Safety management and planning
- Hazard and risk analysis (HARA)
- Safety concept development (FSC/TSC)
- Safety analysis (FTA/FMEA/FMEDA)
- Safety case preparation
- Independent safety review, audit and assessment (ISA)
Software Development
Matimar has in-depth knowledge of the whole embedded software life-cycle from requirements analysis through to delivery of reliable, maintainable production software. We know how to go beyond simply getting software to work, to provide enhanced reliability and maintainability and compliance to requirements of standards for safety and cybersecurity.
We have experience in developing and maintaining embedded system and software requirements using a variety of tools, including DOORS, Cradle, Jama and Jira.
We have expertise in embedded system and software design using tools such as SysML and UML as well as informal notations and natural language.
Our software programming capabilities include C, C++, C# and Ada languages, and automated code generation from Model Based Software Engineering (MBSE). For the higher-integrity domain we have experience with MISRA C, and SPARK Ada.
We have expertise in software testing at unit/module, integration and system levels, using a variety of software tools to automate testing, both off-the-shelf (e.g. Cantata, Tessy, ctest) and bespoke test applications.
Process development
Matimar has extensive knowledge of embedded software and functional safety processes. Matimar expertise covers processes for the whole lifecycle.
As well as the software life-cycle, Matimar also has in-depth understanding of the supporting processes that are essential to successful software projects:
- Version control using tools such as Git and Subversion (SVN)
- Configuration management using tools such as Cradle
- Verification using techniques such as peer-review and static analysis
- Quality assurance
- Problem management using tools such as Jira, Jama and Cradle
- Change control using tools such as Jira, Jama and Cradle
Cybersecurity
We have some experience with cybersecurity analysis (TARA) in the automotive industry (ISO 21434).
